This ballerina created from a long term memory of watching Swan Lake in
Hamburg back in the early eighties. Some images remain in the mind waiting
for ones abilities to catch up and enable the form to be reproduced. She took
over 30 years spinning in my minds eye until at last I could put her on her
points as I wished.
The small stand is designed to be placed out of site so she is standing free.
These pictures are taken outside just before she was delivered. The stand is
then bolted down to a slab to give a heavy base out of sight. The sculpture
once placed is firm in the ground and safe in the highest winds.
One of those wonderful moments when everything came together, serendipity is a
marvelous thing.
